The aim was to explain the effect of the cognitive elements of philosophical research on the logic of problem solving. Method: The research was qualitative. Sampling has been done by the maximum diversity method in order to have all usable codes. All the found elements have been coded and the codes containing cognitive elements have been extracted and analyzed. The data was analyzed using the discourse analysis method. Findings: Philosophical research methods contain explanations of the use of cognitive factors. Types of thinking skills, conceptual arguments, inference, use of abstract concepts, deep and clear understanding of the problem and its conditions and response conditions, rearranging and changing the way the conditions and elements of the problem are placed are among the commonalities of philosophical research methods and problem solving logic. Conclusion: Since cognitive skills can be learned and practiced, it is possible to improve the logic process of problem solving by training and practicing them. Philosophical research has a suitable capacity for use in the logic of problem solving due to the wide use of all kinds of reasoning and analysis of abstract concepts.
