Population growth, industrialization of cities, increasing pollution and, consequently, environmental problems, have caused fundamental problems in the quality of life and physical, mental and social health of human beings .Noise pollution, as part of the problems mentioned, can have dangerous effects on human health, both auditory and non-auditory. Sound comfort in a residential space - as one of the spaces in which people spend significant hours of their lives - can directly and indirectly affect the health of residents .For this purpose, the present study investigates the effect of environmental noise pollution and its consequences on the health of residents in the living room of an apartment complex in Shiraz by recording brain waves. The method of the present study is qualitative-quantitative and the data are based on brain imaging were analyzed and evaluated .For this purpose, the brain waves of the samples were recorded with a 14-channel EMOTIV EPOC device, and after recording EEG signals, the data were converted into numbers by MATLAB software, then the data were entered into NEUROGUIDE and normal brain mapping database software. Then the amplitude range of brain activity of the samples, compared to the normal database. The results of the analysis showed that if the noise level increases from 40 decibel (the national standard for living room) to 53 decibel, It seems that this increase causes decentralization and Attentional bias and will disrupt the cognitive and emotional regulation.Whereas, if sound management is considered in the planning and design of buildings in residential spaces, it can reduce the mentioned problems.
