The Islamic revolution and institution of Islamic democracy has well prepared the political participation of people particularly in elections and there have been different forms of voting processes in the post revolution era in Iran. This article is trying to answer the main question that “how is the voting patterns of Iranian people after the Islamic revolution?”. In this regard, as the process of the research the documentary analysis method has been considered by the author and in collecting the required data the tool “taking note” has been utilized. Based on the findings of this research, the revolutionary atmosphere and the then specific socio-political situation of Iran, the beginning of Iran-Iraq war, and the existing challenges of establishing a new administration made Iranian people to take part eagerly and supportively in the elections based on their religious commitments. Accordingly, on one side, in light of economic developments, change of life patterns, rise of consumerism, and also increase of economic pressure on Iranian households the passive voting pattern increased and; on the other hand, with the falling of revolutionary sentiments among Iranian people, more tangibility of inefficiencies and weaknesses, and maturing of dissatisfactions and social divergence, the protesting form of voting became more sensible. In the regional and minor level of society there could be religious, tribal and ethnicity based forms of voting are also common.
